Predictive tools in violence prevention: a call for proposals

Summary

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) are co-funding a research project into the effectiveness and fairness of predictive tools in violence prevention. These tools are designed to help practitioners identify individuals at risk of being involved in violence, including sexual violence, and guide targeted interventions.

Project Goals

The appointed research team will undertake two core projects:

1. Systematic Review
   A thorough review of existing research on predictive tools used to assess the risk of violent behaviour and their effectiveness in guiding interventions.
2. Primary Research in England and Wales
   An in-depth study of how these tools are applied in practice, exploring both ethical and practical implications.
