Shape our understanding of practice responses to VAWG: Take part in YEF’s national research

Please help us by taking part in a survey on practice responses to VAWG by children and young people

We have funded an independent research team from the Child and Woman Abuse Studies Unit at London Metropolitan University and the Centre for Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse to undertake research to understand current approaches to identifying, assessing and responding to violence against women and girls (VAWG) or ‘VAWG-related harms’ caused by children and young people aged 10–17. This includes harmful sexual behaviour, sexual exploitation and teenage relationship abuse towards other children and young people.

We recognise that this language isn’t used by everyone, and we are also interested in hearing about what language you use when talking about these issues, as well as your responses to it.

If you are working in children’s social care, youth justice, policing, or a specialist service working with young people who have caused harm to other young people, please complete the survey to tell us about what’s happening in your area.

This survey will help us to map what is happening across England and Wales. The results will ultimately be used to inform recommendations for key sectors on how to reduce VAWG among children and young people.  Your participation is entirely voluntary, but you must be aged 18 or above to do so.   You are free to exit the survey at any point, if you do not wish to continue.  It should should take around 20 minutes to complete, depending how much you want to say.

Any information you provide will be analysed and used together with other data collected on this project.  Anonymised quotes from the survey may be used when we report on or publish the findings, including academically, but we will ensure these cannot be attributed to you personally or your organisation.  Any information you share will be treated confidentially, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The survey will be open until Friday 6th November.
