Partnering with the Society of Evidence-Based Policing

We’ve partnered with the Society of Evidence-Based Policing (SEBP) to help policing do more of what works to keep children safe from violence.

At the Youth Endowment Fund (YEF), our mission is to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by building and sharing evidence of what works and making sure it’s used. That’s why we’ve commissioned SEBP: to strengthen the links between frontline policing and the growing body of evidence on effective practice.

Who are the Society of Evidence Based Policing?

SEBP is a unique community of police officers and staff who champion evidence-informed decision-making. With thousands of members, it’s a charity built by and for policing professionals who believe that better outcomes come from better evidence. Our partnership helps SEBP grow its reach, expand its professional offer, and bring practical insights to more people across policing.

How will we work together?

Together, we’re running conferences, workshops, and digital events that support officers and staff to apply proven approaches – like problem-oriented policing, focused deterrence and hotspot policing – in their day-to-day work. The SEBP’s Members’ Hub is making it even easier to access tools, insights and updates, and the first national Evidence-Based Policing Awards will celebrate the innovative work already happening across the country.

We want every policing professional to feel confident using the best available evidence to inform their decisions. Because when we do that, we can make a real difference to the lives of children and young people.
