About the project

MDFT aims to reduce substance misuse, improve behavioural issues and reduce young people’s involvement in the criminal justice system through multidimensional family therapy. It is delivered by a qualified MDFT therapist and it intervenes in four connected areas:
(i) the young person, (ii) the parents, (iii) the family, and (iv) the community. It sets specific therapeutic goals for each, using separate sessions to build a supportive network and foster long-term positive outcomes.

Barnardo’s will deliver the programme, overseen by The Ending Youth Violence Lab.
