The Youth Endowment Fund is an independent charitable trust overseen by Impetus, in partnership with the Early Intervention Foundation and Social Investment Business.
Impetus transforms the lives of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds by ensuring they get the right support to succeed in school, in work and in life. They find, fund and build the most promising charities working with these young people, providing core funding and working shoulder-to-shoulder with their leaders to help them become stronger organisations. In partnership with other funders they help their charities expand and influence policy and decision makers so that all young people get the support they need.
The Early Intervention Foundation
The Early Intervention Foundation (EIF) champions and supports the use of effective early intervention to improve the lives of children and young people at risk of experiencing poor outcomes. Its work focuses on the developmental issues that can arise during a child’s life, from birth to the age of 18, including their physical, cognitive, behavioural and social and emotional development.
Social Investment Business
Social Investment Business helps charities and social enterprises improve people’s lives. They do this by providing finance they need directly, partnering with others to support them, and using our knowledge to influence. They have provided over £400m of loans and grants since 2002 and supported well over 2000 organisations in that time.
Funding from
Home Office
In 2019, the Home Office made £200m available over ten years to create The Youth Endowment Fund, as part of its long-term plan to tackle serious violence. Impetus, EIF and SIB won a competitive tender to run the Fund.
