Summary
The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity dedicated to preventing children and young people from becoming involved in violence. Through its Youth Sector Practice Guidance, YEF promotes evidence-based approaches to targeting support towards children who are most vulnerable to involvement in violence. Good-quality data is critical to this approach, enabling local areas to identify patterns of violence, understand local needs and direct resources effectively.
To support this, YEF is working alongside the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to provide additional support to local authorities establishing Young Futures Hubs. These hubs aim to bring together services across mental health, wellbeing, employment and crime prevention. Strong local data infrastructure will help these hubs make informed decisions and deliver targeted, effective support.
Project goals
YEF is seeking a specialist partner to work directly with up to 32 Young Futures Local Authorities to review crime and violence-related data and strengthen local data infrastructure. The partner will use the learning from this work to develop a small number of accessible tools and resources to help future sites replicate it independently. The partner will be hands-on, helping sites source, govern, interpret and act on the data that underpins evidence-based commissioning.
How to apply
We invite bidders to prepare proposals of no more than 2,000 words. Applicants should demonstrate relevant experience, a strong understanding of local public service data systems, and the ability to support evidence-based commissioning and violence prevention initiatives at a local level.
