Youth Sector Practice Guidance – Strong Foundations

A Virtual Learning Café (VLC) run by the Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) which will focus on youth sector practice guidance and reducing violence.

We are pleased to invite strategic local authority commissioners to the final session in our three-part Virtual Learning Café series focused on youth sector practice guidance and reducing violence.

Following our previous sessions on targeting the right children and approaches that work, this session will focus on strong foundations – exploring what it takes to build a resilient local youth sector system.

We are constantly navigating a fragmented system, shaped by short-term grants, siloed working across department and partners and youth workers. Addressing this fragmentation is central to preventing children and young people from becoming involved in violence.

To help you put this into practice, we’ll also be launching the Youth Sector Insights Creator – a self-assessment tool to help you identify gaps and opportunities to embed the guidance’s evidence base within your own commissioning practice.

Whether you’re reviewing your commissioning cycle, rethinking how youth workers are equipped and embedded within local safeguarding systems, or trying to build a stronger case for sustained investment, this session will offer practical steps you can take back to your local system.
